The movie interpretation of the story of Noah is the same as the interpretation of the Bible. However, the movie added multiple details that weren't mentioned in the Bible. For example, the Watchers, their journey to meet Methuselah, etc. I remember we mentioned in class that there are gaps in Bible that we need to use our interpretation to fulfill. I think the movie has done a great job at this. Its interpretation is not the only way to fulfill the Bible, but it makes sense and helps me to understand the story better. In the beginning, the existence of the watchers also confused me. I thought they are just an element that the director decided to add to enrich the movie. After reading Genesis 6:1-4, I wonder if the origin of the watcher is the Nephilim, the son of God. 導演挺冤的，兩邊不討好。無神論者一看是宗教片，直接就低分了。基督徒一看這片把原著改得面目全非，也開始黑。其實人家根本就是借諾亞的故事來表達自己的想法，根本沒打算拍宗教片。
這個諾亞和圣經里面的諾亞關系不大，而是作為現代人的導演的化身，至始至終，他面臨著一個巨大的精神危機，需要解答兩個難題，那就是：1.神是否存在？如果他存在，他關心人類嗎？2.人是否有他存在的意義和價值？
第一個問題在哲學上是無解的。第二個問題離開了第一個問題，在哲學上更加無解。
最后導演借其中一人之口說出了自己的答案，成為全片最大的敗筆。答案給得太匆忙了，而且根本配不上這兩個宏大的問題。
