The initial inspiration came from the Tang Dynasty poem "The Song of the Ranger" and the thread of fate in Chinese culture. The artist combined live action movies, Sims 4, browser/webcam frameworks, and sewing to perform filial piety rituals by simulating the experiences of 1) her American, 2) her Chinese, and 3) her Chinese American. The artist views the screen as an interface, not an entrance, as she transcends the game space to showcase her belonging. The experience of parachute children is similar to the life simulation games manufactured by the US government and institutions, which have a lot of economic incentives and in turn contribute to the operation of American educational institutions. Sims 4 exists in the form of "psychological nowhere", bringing the artist's parachute experience into a true state of "psychological everywhere". At the same time, the level of the artist's "self" has become increasingly entangled.
