In 2009, actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborah Lee Funes went to Ethiopia as ambassadors for the Australian World Vision. During that visit, they met coffee farmer Ducale. During his growth, poverty deprived Ducale of educational opportunities, but when World Vision provided a new economic empowerment, he saw the opportunity to create a new future for his family. Jackman was deeply inspired by the story of Ducale, and he made and kept the promise in the movie to Ducale.
